Center Introduction
The Zhejiang Provincial Engineering Technology Research Center for Environmental Protection Inks was approved and established by the provincial science and technology department in July 2013. It is built based on the Zhejiang high-tech enterprise, Xindongfang Ink Co., Ltd., with Mr. Fan Jiaju as the center's director. The main building of the center is an independent R&D building of seven floors, covering more than 3,300 square meters. Additionally, it owns a type test base of over 1,200 square meters. The base is equipped with a series of large-scale equipment, including multi-color printing machines, dry lamination machines, and solvent-free lamination machines, which have the capability to monitor and verify various conventional and unconventional indicators of ink and adhesive products. 

The center has attracted scholars and professors from institutions such as East China University of Science and Technology, Beijing Chemical Industry Research Institute, Zhengzhou University, and Jiangnan University. Mr. Fan Jiaju, the director of the ink center, won the "Green Elite" award in the ink industry during the "2011 Green Printing in China" series of activities led by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film, and Television. Currently, there are 53 technical research personnel of various types, including 9 experts with full senior titles, 2 experts with associate senior titles, and more than 20 people with intermediate titles. At present, the center comprises 3 specialized technical research departments, 1 ink research laboratory, 1 instrument analysis room, and 1 type test base.

Main direction
Research on Polymer Resin Materials
  • Research on polyester, polyurethane, and acrylic polymer resin materials as ink connectors;
  • Research on polyester, polyether polyurethane, and other modified polymer resin materials as intermediates and prepolymers for adhesive products.
Research on functional flexible packaging printing ink
  • Water based ink: suitable for BOPP film printing, with good compatibility with chlorinated polyacid ink, it is a non-toxic and environmentally friendly ink for food flexible packaging;
  • Research on surface printing inks with alcohol solubility, freeze resistance, boiling resistance, oxidation resistance, and strong wear resistance;
  • Research on gravure surface ink for aluminum foil printing, aluminum foil ink with high temperature resistance, oil resistance, water resistance, high gloss, and good transparency.
Development of functional adhesives
  • Solvent free adhesive: used for the composite between PET film and CPP film in ordinary packaging, with fast curing speed, strong cohesion, and excellent film composite effect. The use process is non-toxic, safe, and hygienic;
  • Steam resistant adhesive: It has good adhesion to processed polyolefins, aluminum foil, aluminum foil, and extruded heat sealed film layers.
